PROJECT: External Improvements to Existing Flats

SUMMARY: Re-design of main access and open balconies to 31 flats, to improve security, extend flats, upgrade appearance and give new architectural identity to the estate as a whole. Balconies were eliminated entirely in favour of extended living space and new access designs ensured more secure and less shared external spaces.

A deliberately contemporary approach to aesthetics created a visual change of character for the overall estate.

SERVICES: Full architectural services for Southway from inception to planning approval. All construction drawings for the contractor at post-contract stage.

Pre-planning work by Triangle also included extensive option appraisals, involving significant community consultation to select preferred solutions.
