PROJECT: New-Build Town Centre Houses and Apartments

SUMMARY: A high density town-centre residential development consisting of 71 family houses and 121 apartments. The project includes underground parking to serve the apartments and despite a density of 70 dwellings per hectare there is 100% car-parking for all houses. The distinctive site layout also incorporates an urban pocket-park and homezones and there are a variety of house-types including innovative 3 storey and courtyard houses. Low energy use and high sustainability targets are factored into the design of all house and flat types.

The scheme was designed both as an exemplar for urban living and as a flagship for the regeneration of Oldham Town Centre and includes a striking, 13 storey apartment block as a deliberate landmark building on a key corner.

SERVICES: Full architectural services from inception to planning consent for Gleeson Regeneration. 

In addition to architectural design, services provided by Triangle included brief-writing, radical option appraisals and all masterplanning. There was also extensive community consultation and regular and detailed liaison with a wide range of agencies and funders.
